The PINE Message System

LATEST PINE VERSION = 3.91, released 94.10.11
Unix Pine, Pico, and IMAP *binaries* are in the unix-bin subdirectory.
The PC-Pine distribution is now in the pcpine subdirectory.

docs DIRECTORY:
Pine external documentation. Supplements to the help information compiled
into Pine and the Unix man page. The files in this directory are also
available in WWW form as http://www.cac.washington.edu/pine
tech-notes.txt - Text version of Pine Techincal notes, about 50 pages
release-notes.txt - Release notes for the current version of Pine
user-guide - Based on Pine's online help
faq - Frequently Asked Questions
pcpine DIRECTORY:
pcpine_X.zip files containing the PC-Pine distribution, where X may be:
s = Sun PC/NFS
n = Novell LAN Workplace
f = FTP Software PC/TCP
p = Packet Driver
w = Windows/Winsock
pkunzip.exe -zip file unpacker
unix-bin DIRECTORY:
Current Pine, Pico, and IMAPd binaries:
pine-bin.X
pico-bin.X
imapd-bin.X
where X may be:
sun = Sun SunOS 4.1.3 on SPARC hardware
solaris = Sun Solaris 2.2 on SPARC hardware
next = NeXTstep on NeXT hardware
ultrix = DEC Ultrix 4.x on MIPS processor
linux = Linux (Intel hardware)
hpux9 = HP/UX 9.01
unix-bin-compressed DIRECTORY:
Compressed versions of the binaries found in the unix-bin directory.
These are installed for use with automatic download and installation
schemes.
old DIRECTORY:
Old versions of the Pine package. No pre-compiled binaries are available
for old versions.
pine-info DIRECTORY:
Archives of discussion on the public pine-info list. All files are in
Berkeley mail format. Coverage is from 1993 to the present.
